Washington, DC is gearing up for one of the city’s most colorful and anticipated events of the year as Capital Pride’s biggest weekend makes its return.
Thousands of residents and visitors are expected to take part in a packed lineup of celebrations that include a neighborhood block party, family-friendly activities, the iconic Capital Pride Parade, a sprawling festival along Pennsylvania Avenue, and a free concert featuring nationally known performers.

The Capital Pride Block Party
The Capital Pride Block Party takes place on Saturday, June 20th, from noon until 10 pm along 17th Street NW between P Street and Riggs Place.
One of the most popular community gatherings of the weekend, the event transforms DC’s historic LGBTQ+ neighborhood into a lively street festival featuring entertainment, music, food, drinks, and Pride celebrations throughout the day and evening.
Attendance is free.
The Capital Pride Family Fun Festival
Families looking for a kid-friendly Pride celebration can head to the Capital Pride Family Fun Fest on Saturday, June 20th, from 11 am to 3 pm at Stead Park.
The event is designed for all ages and typically includes:

- Interactive entertainment
- Family-focused community programming

The Capital Pride Parade
The highlight of Saturday’s festivities is the Capital Pride Parade, which begins at 3 pm on June 20th.
The parade starts near 14th and T Streets NW before traveling south through the city and continuing along Pennsylvania Avenue NW, ending near 9th Street NW.
The annual tradition features colorful floats, marching groups, performers, community organizations, and thousands of participants celebrating LGBTQ+ pride and visibility throughout Washington.
The parade is free to attend, though reserved grandstand seating is available for purchase.
The Capital Pride Festival
The Capital Pride Festival returns to Pennsylvania Avenue NW on Sunday, June 21st, from noon until 10 pm.
The free event will feature hundreds of exhibitors, community organizations, artisans, food vendors, beverage gardens, and multiple entertainment stages stretching across downtown Washington.
Festival organizers describe it as the culminating celebration of Pride weekend, bringing together local, national, and international performers alongside community groups and businesses.
The Capital Pride concert
Running alongside the festival, the Capital Pride Concert will take place on Sunday, June 21st, from 1 pm to 10 pm near 3rd Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW.
The free concert will feature performances from Maren Morris, Leikeli47, Lisa Lisa, Harrison, and Myki Meeks, along with additional LGBTQ+ artists and entertainers.
General admission is free, while upgraded VIP and Pit Zone experiences are available for purchase for those seeking premium access closer to the stage.
