Amtrak is offering a sale on train routes from DC for a sale they’re calling ‘Travel Tuesday Flash Sale. For today only, you can get 25% off multiple train routes from DC across the U.S.! The trips can be taken at the beginning of 2025 from January 2nd to March 15th, making this the perfect opportunity to kickstart your travel plans next year.
We checked out ticket prices from DC to check out fares. For example, most of the routes we looked into were as follows:
- DC to Philly: The lowest ticket we saw was $8 for Monday, January 6th! But most sat at around $60-$70 one-way with prices ranging depending on whether you leave on a weekday or weekend. February saw rates to be in the low 60s with January’s rates leaning more towards the higher end.
- DC to NYC: Tickets were as low as $30 early in the week (we plugged in Monday, Jan 6th) but most sat between $80-$100 depending on the day, time, and type of ticket you purchased. Flexible travelers will be able to snag the best fare for this route.
- DC to Savannah: Travelers could get a ticket for as low as $56 at certain times in January and February. On the higher end, fares were over $80.
- DC to Boston: Coach tickets are running as low as $46 dollars for the chance to travel from DC to Boston.
- DC to Orlando: For sunnier weather, you can travel down to Orlando Florida via the Lorton VA Auto Train Station for as low as $60. Most tickets hovered closer to $90.
Amtrak’s sale comes after the biggest deal holiday, Black Friday, and is helping travelers get a kickstart to their vacation plans in 2025. “This Travel Tuesday, we’re thrilled to help travelers make 2025 the year to Retrain Travel, offering savings for everything from visiting loved ones and important business meetings to exploring new destinations or taking a much-needed getaway,” said Amtrak Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer Eliot Hamlisch.
