After leaving behind his career as a corporate lawyer in NYC, artist Nathan Sawaya has embarked on a one-of-a-kind journey as a contemporary artist who uses LEGO® bricks.
Following successful runs in Atlanta, Miami, and Raleigh, The Art of the Brick is returning to the United States this winter. Prepare to be amazed as you marvel at some of the world’s most famous art masterpieces, reimagined in LEGO® form.
From Michelangelo’s David to Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, the three-dimensional art pieces will make you rethink everything you know about the classic building blocks. And the creativity doesn’t stop there – get ready to be wowed by a massive LEGO® T-Rex, human figures, everyday objects, and more.
The D.C. exhibition also features an animal room, giving guests a glimpse into some of Sawaya’s animal LEGO® sculptures, which are not always on display at The Art of the Brick. Titled “Perniciem,” the room sheds light on endangered species and even includes an interactive zone where you can devise your own lego creations.
Tickets to Art of the Brick are now on sale. The experience is set to open at the Rhode Island Center on January 30, 2025.
