Location: 809 Upshur St NW
10. Jet’s Pizza – Alexandria
Okay, yes, Jet’s Pizza isn’t inside of D.C. but before you call us out and say we lied about this list being about the “best pizza in D.C.”, just hear us out. Jet’s Pizza is a special spot, their Detroit-style deep-pan pizza is something that should be talked about more. The crispy caramelized crust edges on one of their Detroit-style pizzas make this spot stand out from the rest of the places in D.C., which in our opinion is worth mentioning here.
There’s no shortage of pizza places around D.C. that attempt to ride on the name of “New York-style” to lure in customers, but it takes a certain confidence to build a Detroit-style pizza so far from Michigan, but to do so and hit it big like Jet’s has is nothing short of impressive.
