Crowds are expected to start gathering for Friday’s Commitment March starting at 7 am. Here’s what’s closing down for the event.

Friday, August 27, marks the 57th anniversary of the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. The march marked a turning point in the fight for civil rights and saw Martin Luther King Jr. deliver his now-famous “I Have A Dream” speech. Now, in light of the killing of George Floyd in May, the National Action Network has organized a new march set to draw crowds to the National Mall. Several streets are being closed ahead of Friday’s Commitment March: Get Your Knee Off Our Necks for which crowds will start gathering early in the morning.
