It’s lucky DC is next to Maryland, it’s only a short drive away to the most delicious crabs in the nation!

With blue crabs being Maryland’s specialty food, Washingtonians have it nice being only a state over from the freshest and juiciest crab in probably the whole nation. Get your hands dirty and crack open these local crabs at these fun and good ambiance restaurants around Maryland.

1. Harris Crab House

Situated next to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, about an hour’s drive from DC, this is an accessible destination for Washingtonians who are adventuring out of the city. For five generations, this crab house has been going strong! Serving up daily seafood specials, steamed crab, many appetizers, tacos, sandwiches, and so much more. Their menu is so elaborate it will take you some time to decide what you want!

2. Kentmorr Restaurant and Crab House

Crack open your crabs with your feet in the sand here! Located on the Kentmorr Marina, you’ll have a lovely view of the Chesapeake Bay because you’ll be dining on the beach. Their crab cakes, local crabs, fish, and oysters are award-winning so you can be certain they are exquisite. Get ready to get your hands messy!

3. Bethesda Crab House
