The Culpeper Air Fest is taking over Culpeper Regional Airport this Saturday, October 10, for a full day of aviation-themed activities.
Now in its 26th year, the annual event will feature historic aircraft, aerobatic acts, static displays, vendors and food.
The best part? Admission and parking are completely free, making it an easy fall day trip for aviation fans and families.
When and where is the Culpeper Air Fest?
The 2026 Culpeper Air Fest takes place Saturday, October 10, at Culpeper Regional Airport.
Gates open at 9 a.m., giving visitors time to check out static displays and other activities before the main air show begins at noon. The main show is scheduled to run until 3 p.m.
There is no spectator parking at the airport. Instead, visitors can park for free at:
- Culpeper County High School
- Eastern View High School
Free shuttle buses will run between the schools and airport beginning around 8:30 a.m., with the final bus leaving the airport around 3:45 p.m.

What can you expect at the free air show?
The morning will include R/C aircraft demonstrations and static displays, followed by the main performances at noon.
This year’s lineup is expected to include The Flying Circus Airshow, Kevin Russo & The Jersey Jerks flying T-6 Texans, a P-51 Mustang, a P-40 Warhawk, a Sukhoi SU-26 and more. A warbird parade and mass formation flyover are also planned.
Visitors can also see the C-54 Berlin Airlift Candy Bomber, while rides aboard a C-47 and B-25 will be available through the Michigan Flight Museum for an additional cost.
What should you bring to the Culpeper Air Fest?
The organizers recommend coming prepared for a full day outside. Visitors should bring:
- Earplugs or hearing protection, especially for children
- Sunscreen
- A folding chair
- A camera
- Cash for food and treats
Leave coolers and tents at home or in your vehicle, as vendors will have food and beverages available throughout the event. Restrooms, including accessible portable restrooms, will also be available.
Pets are also best left at home because the crowds and aircraft noise can be stressful for animals. Service animals are permitted.
What happens if it rains?
The Air Fest will still attempt to hold activities and performances during rain or drizzle when it is safe to do so and permitted by the FAA and local authorities.
However, there is no alternate rain date scheduled for 2026, so visitors should check the event’s official channels for updates if the weather looks questionable.
