If you’re planning to drive anywhere around Washington, DC this 4th of July weekend, you’ll want to leave yourself plenty of extra time.
Several of the city’s biggest Independence Day celebrations—including the record-breaking Freedom 250 Salute to America event, the National Independence Day Parade, and neighborhood parades—will bring extensive road closures, parking restrictions, and traffic delays across the District.
Many closures have already begun as event infrastructure is installed, while the most significant disruptions will take effect throughout Friday, July 3rd and Saturday, July 4th.
Traffic changes on Wednesday, July 1st
On Wednesday, July 1st, beginning at 9:00 am, the following street will have its westbound curb lane closed to vehicle traffic:
