The 2026 list for 50 Best Bars in North America was released earlier this year, and the District now homes four of the best bars on the continent — two that ranked among the top 50 and another two listed among the top 100!
Once again, reassuring Washingtonians that D.C.’s best bars are some of the best in the world!

In total, the four bars that ranked among the top are well-known in the D.C. drinks and dining scene for their craft cocktails, amazing atmosphere, and superb service.
Those four bars are:
- Press Club
- Service Bar
- Silver Lyan
- Allegory
Two of the four managed to crack the annual ranking’s top 50, while the third and fourth bars from the District that were given a ranking scored among North America’s top 100 best bars.
Where did Press Club rank among the best bars in North America?
Press Club Cocktail Bar, which has been drawing crowds to its Dupont Circle space for just over a year now, largely as a result of its having “the vibes of a 70s cocktail lounge and aesthetics of a 90s record shop.”
Making its debut on this list, Press Club ranked #34 among North America’s best bars.
Where did Service Bar rank among the best bars in North America?
A U-Street institution, Service Bar has been serving up its iconic fried chicken and craft cocktails at a reasonable price since 2016!
This year, Service Bar ranked #39 among all the bars in North America.
Given the high ranking, you may assume it’s a stuffy space, but that couldn’t be further from the truth!
