It’s been nearly a month since the debut of D.C.’s Glossier retail store and people are still clamoring to get a chance to shop or grab a peek inside.
Since its opening on July 29, shoppers have even waited outdoors in long lines to peruse the store.
The Georgetown Glossier is one of only six permanent retail locations—alongside ones in Atlanta, London, two in Los Angeles, Miami, and Seattle—making access to a brick-and-mortar storefront a luxury. Additional locations in Brooklyn and Philadelphia are expected to open this fall.
The D.C. Glossier was designed to have a Jet Age feel, evident by its sleek pink aesthetic, featuring “retro-inspired arrivals and departures signs, floor lighting styled like an airport runway, and seating modeled after airplane wings,” according to a press release.
To this end, the one-of-a-kind airport-inspired storefront also offers patrons the unique chance to purchase a Glossier Luggage Tag and keychain. For every Luggage Tag purchased, Glossier will be donating $5 toward the nonprofit BUILD Metro D.C., which works with children from “under-resourced communities” to boost their academics and business savvy to spur a new generation of entrepreneurs.
Not only do visitors have the opportunity to peruse and purchase a variety of staple Glossier items (from makeup like its Lidstar Eye Glow to skin care such as the Milky Jelly Cleanser), but the storefront also features Glossier’s selfie room to snap the perfect picture!
You can visit the Georgetown Glossier at 3065 M Street NW, Washington, D.C.
