The DC Food & Beverage Collective, Osteria Morini, and talented Chef Matt Adler of Cucina MORINI and Caruso’s Grocery are cooking up something special this March – and you won’t want to miss out. Aptly named the DC Meatball Battle, the unique competition will feature eight local chefs, each vying to see who can make the tastiest meatball.
The culinary extravaganza will take place at Osteria Morini on Saturday, March 15. The charity event features an incredible lineup of top DMV area chefs, specialty cocktails, unlimited pasta, and, of course, plenty of meatballs.

Below are the eight skilled participants and their respective restaurants:
- Elias Taddesse, Doro Soul Food
- Roberto Donna, Roberto’s
- Marcelino Zamudio, Chicatana
- Katsuya Fukushima, Daikaya
- Kyle Bailey, Long Shot Hospitality
- Kat Petonito, The Duck and the Peach
- Mike Friedman, The Red Hen
- Russell Smith, Alfreda Pizza
Attendees can visit each chef’s station to sample the meatballs and cast a vote for their favorite. Unlimited penne a la vodka, spaghetti marinara, and focaccia will also be available. In the drink department, a voucher for one beer, wine, cocktail, or soft drink is included with your ticket purchase.

Proceeds from the charity event, which includes a raffle, will help provide culinary scholarships and restaurant internship opportunities, making the experience fun AND philanthropic. A panel of judges will also be onsite to taste the meatballs and determine whose reigns supreme!
Tickets are $85, and you can snag yours here.
