Washington, D.C. has once again made a serious case for its place on the American pizza map.
Slice & Pie, the colorful pizzeria known for its New York- and Detroit-style pizzas, has been ranked the No. 2 pizza-by-the-slice shop in the United States for 2026 by global pizza organization 50 Top Pizza.
The D.C. restaurant also landed at No. 96 on 50 Top Pizza’s 2026 list of the 100 best pizzerias in the world, putting it among an international group of pizza destinations from 36 countries.

Slice & Pie is ranked No. 96 in the world in the 2026 edition of 50 Top Pizza’s World ranking.
The D.C. pizzeria was one of just a handful of American restaurants to make the global list, alongside renowned spots from New York, California, Florida and other pizza destinations across the country.
The recognition comes after Slice & Pie claimed the No. 2 spot in 50 Top Pizza Slice USA 2026, a ranking specifically dedicated to pizza shops known for serving individual slices. New York’s L’Industrie Pizzeria took the No. 1 position, while Miami Slice ranked No. 3.
That No. 2 finish also helped propel Slice & Pie onto the global ranking. According to 50 Top Pizza, the top 15 restaurants in its U.S. ranking and the top three in its dedicated U.S. slice ranking automatically qualify for consideration for the World 100 list.
The pizzeria is led by pizzaiolo Giulio Adriani, who also received 50 Top Pizza’s Pizza Maker Mentor 2026 special award.

Where is Slice & Pie?
Slice & Pie currently has two locations in Washington, D.C., making it possible to try the nationally recognized slices in two different parts of the city.
The original location is at 2221 14th St. NW, near the U Street corridor. The restaurant also has a location at 1309 5th St. NE inside Union Market, where it opened in September 2025.
Both locations serve Giulio Adriani’s New York- and Detroit-style pizzas, including slices and whole pies.
