The Washington Commanders have a long history of playing in the NFL’s Thanksgiving Day games against the Dallas Cowboys, who host one of these games every year. This year the Commanders are back to take on the Cowboys once again in a game that many have referred to in the past as the “Turkey Bowl”, an endearing nickname given to the Thanksgiving Day NFL game that was played on TV during peak viewership hours.
This year, with an expected audience of roughly 42.1 million viewers, this is quite literally one of the most-watched sporting events of the year, so it makes sense to have one of the greatest musicians ever to perform at halftime.
What is Dolly Parton going to perform?
Dolly Parton very recently released an album, entitled “Rockstar”, which has collaborations with a long list of notable musicians like Elton John, Miley Cyrus, Paul McCartney, Sheryl Crow, Lizzo, and Ringo Starr, amongst others! This album will likely take up a fair amount of her set, but there’s little doubt that she is going to perform some of her biggest hits! Some of those songs you may be familiar with include “Jolene” and “I Will Always Love You”, which she apparently wrote on the same day back in 1973!
Dolly Parton has been on the music scene for decades and now she’s proven herself not only to be a musical legend but has also earned the right to be recognized as an ultra-successful business-person and a world-class philanthropist.
