We checked out Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience and (spoiler alert) we loved it. We’ve read the comments. We know you have to travel to Leesburg, but believe us when we say, it’s worth the drive. Below, we’ve shared five reasons why you should pay a visit to the stunning woodland trail on the grounds of Morven Park.
1. The experience is equally incredible for both Harry Potter fans & newbies
The enduring magic of the Harry Potter and the Fantastic Beasts series is truly incredible. If you’re like me, the early 2000s consisted of Harry Potter-themed parties, midnight book releases, and countless reruns of the movies. On the other hand, my plus one to Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience did not hold the same nostalgic attachment to the series.
However, upon entering the illuminated forest, we were both completely captivated. Whether you’ve reread each book ten times or merely caught clips of the movies, the interactive nighttime adventure will enchant visitors of all ages and backgrounds.
2. This year’s Forbidden Forest experience contains more magical moments than ever before
If you caught the 2022 rendition of Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience, it’s time to run it back! This year’s adventure is filled with brand-new discoveries like the Goblet of Fire, Triwizard Walk, and even a dragon. We won’t spoil too much, but we’ve got to say that we were blown away by the new elements.
3. The photo opportunities and interactive moments are unmatched
On average, the entire experience takes between 60 to 90 minutes to complete. And that’s because there is so much to see and do! Whether you want to capture yourself bowing to a Hippogriff or casting a patronus, Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience is the perfect place to relive (and document) your favorite magical moments.
Just be sure to maintain eye contact with the Hippogriff, or he may not bow back! After all, they’re very stubborn creatures.
4. Visitors can enjoy an array of themed bites & beverages
While we knew tasty treats were waiting for us back in the festive village we entered through, we were thrilled to discover a refreshment stand in the middle of the trail. We opted for hot cocoa to warm ourselves up. Those 21 and older can elevate the drinks with “adult magic.”
In true UK fashion, we dined on fish and chips in the pop-up village. Other options include cheese toasties, chicken tenders, and s’mores, which you can prepare over open firepits. There are a variety of drink options as well, including the iconic Butterbeer.
5. The gift shop has so many fun finds
No visit would be complete without a stop at the gift shop. Upon entering, we were surprised by how big the space was! From the cutest stuffed Hedwigs to a wide variety of wands, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
With the holidays right around the corner, this would be the perfect place to find something for the Harry Potter fanatic in your life. Of course, we wouldn’t blame you if you got something for yourself as well. 😉🎁
