According to LoveFood.com, the most expensive restaurant in D.C. is The Inn at Little Washington. In 2024, Washington Business Journal called Jônt the most expensive restaurant in the D.C. Metropolitan area. Today, we did a comparison to see which restaurant is the priciest.
First, let’s look at Jônt, run by Chef Ryan Ratino, a 17-seat counter with 2 Michelin stars since 2021. Their tasting menu offers high quality dishes, like wagyu beef, foie gras, as well as delicious side dishes like sasanishiki rice with king crab, wagyu tongue, and vanilla madelines. This men runs at $377 a person, coming just short of the Inn at Little Washington.

The Inn at Little Washington has the city’s first and only 3 Michelin stars and serves up delicious, whimsical French and American dishes in their dining room that is a part of the luxury hotel, the Inn at Little Washington. It’s run by Patrick O’Connell who serves different tasting menus every day. As of now on the website, there is the Good Earth menu, Our Enduring Classics, and Here and Now, all serving different items. Try dishes like their garden’s carrot cake with basil ice cream and buttermilk dressing, Prosciutto-Wrapped Veal Tenderloin, or Long Island Duck Three-Ways
These run $388 per person. If you that was a lot, there’s also the Caviar Tasting Menu that runs a whopping $2,500 per person.

We do have some good news for anyone who is looking for something a little cheaper from the same chef. Directly across the street is Patty O’s Cafe, which transforms delicious American classics for a cheaper price point. Rueben Sandwiches for $21. Half-Pound Wagyu Beef Burgers for $23, and Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie for $16.00
A quick glance at the rooms at the Inn at Little Washington, and you’re going to spending a pretty penny at $1,000+ a night in July and August, and that’s for a standard room.
