Sure it’s not that quintessential “winter wonderland,” but it is technically snowing in D.C. right now (11/22).
Flurries along with a wintry mix rain/snow combo, but we’ll take it! Anything to get in the seasonal spirit, especially with the first of the holiday markets opening this weekend.
Though it’s short-lived, the National Weather Service has indicated the wintry mix will continue through early afternoon, shifting to majority rain through today and tonight — with a high near 43 degrees, winds 14-18 MPH and 1/10-1/4 inch of precipitation anticipated. Tonight will have a low of 38 degrees with wind gusts as high as 24 MPH, with less than an inch of precipitation possible.
Though D.C. itself hasn’t really had anything measurable thus far, the tri-state is definitely seeing more substantial snow this week. In North/Central Maryland, “light snow accumulations” have been noted.
And in West Virginia, the counties of Western Grant and Western Pendleton actually are under a Blizzard Warning through tonight.
