A free outdoor concert series, Jazz @ Met, will return to Metropolitan Park this spring, thanks to co-presenters DC Jazz Festival and National Landing BID.
The concert series’ four events will take place on alternating Thursdays from May 7 to June 18 at Metropolitan Park.
Each concert is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m with a short break in the middle.
Musical Performances
The series will present a varied lineup of local and internationally influenced jazz artists.
The performance schedule is as follows:
- May 7: The JoGo Project, performing a fusion of jazz and go-go.
- May 21: Joe Brotherton, with a focus on New Orleans jazz.
- June 4: The Eric Byrd Trio, presenting acoustic piano and vocal jazz.
- June 18: José Luiz Martins, featuring Brazilian jazz.

Art Activities and Refreshments
In addition to the music, attendees will have access to hands-on art workshops led by artists from the Museum of Contemporary Art Arlington’s Innovation Studio.
The planned activities include synesthetic watercolor painting, postcard collage creation, a collective stitching project, and tote bag screenprinting.
On-site, Toby’s Homemade Ice Cream will be available for purchase, and Mocktail Club will offer complimentary non-alcoholic beverage samples.
