Fall is officially here. And Monet: The Immersive Experience is currently open at Rhode Island Center, right on time to beat the back to school blues.
The exhibit is a multisensory journey through the work and life of Claude Monet, highlighting some of his most famous paintings like the “Water Lilies” series and “The Poppy Fields near Argenteuil.” Through digital projections, a walk-through exhibit section and a VR segment, you’ll be completely transported to Monet’s beloved Giverny gardens, where ferns and wild growth dance in harmony with the artist’s carefully planted flowers.

Monet: The Immersive Experience not only gives you a magnified look at the impressionist painter’s pieces, it also provides a new perspective on Monet’s life and inspiration. Who was the painter exactly? What impacted his creativity? You’ll learn about every major moment in the artist’s life, and how those influenced the paintings we know today through the walk-in section of the experience and an add-on VR segment towards the end of your journey.
Digital displays, sound effects, projection mapping, art installations… Monet: The Immersive Experience is the first exhibition of its kind in D.C., coming from Exhibition Hub, the company behind Cincinnati’s acclaimed Van Gogh exhibition. The experience makes for the ideal plan for autumn, since Monet’s artwork is heavily influenced by colorful landscapes.
