Skittles, taste the…mustard?
Yes, you read that correctly.
Washingtonians can soon taste a previously untasted flavor of the rainbow by trying out Mustard Skittles.
The one-time specialty candy is the product of a partnership between seasoning magnate McCormick & Company and condiment producer French’s to celebrate National Mustard Day on Saturday, August 5.
“SKITTLES is always looking to inspire moments of everyday happiness and deliver unexpected ways for fans to experience the brand,” Ro Cheng, marketing director at Mars, said in a press release. “That’s why we’ve teamed up with French’s to create the first-of-its-kind SKITTLES that combines their tangy mustard flavor with our iconic chewy texture to deliver this unique summer treat for National Mustard Day.”
In previous years, French’s has partnered with other companies to bring “sweets” like Mustard Ice Cream and Mustard Donuts to fruition.
Though people can purchase the tangy specialty Skittles online, Washingtonians are in luck.
The French’s ‘Mustard Mobile’ is embarking on a trip up the East Coast, including a stop in D.C. The custom-designed Mustard Mobile and cart will be parked at 825 10th Street NW in City Center from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2.
