1. Qui Qui DC
Situated atop The Passenger cocktail bar in Shaw, Qui Qui DC is home to delicious Puerto Rican comfort food, rum cocktails, music, and an all-around vibrant atmosphere. Visitors can anticipate a diverse menu inspired by Puerto Rico and the entire West Indies, carefully curated by Chef Ismael Mendez.
Qui Qui DC began as a pop-up business and food truck before transforming into a permanent culinary destination in the heart of Shaw back in 2018. From menu items like pan sobao, pasteles, and lechón, to an extensive rum bottle selection, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

2. La Famosa
La Famosa brings the comforting flavors of Puerto Rican cuisine to Navy Yard with its all-day eatery and full-service bar. Owned and operated by Chef Joancarlo Parkhurst, the restaurant is heavily influenced by Parkhurst’s experiences and relationship with Puerto Rico.
Whether you need an afternoon caffeine boost, a hearty sandwich fix, or a new dinner spot, La Famosa’s extensive menu offers a delicious lineup of Puerto Rican bites and beverages. During La Famosa’s happy hour (3 pm to 6 pm from Tuesday through Friday), patrons can enjoy $3 lagers, $5 glasses of wine, $6 glasses of sangria, and more!

3. Borinquen Lunch Box
Staking its claim as the only food truck currently serving authentic Puerto Rican cuisine in the DMV area, Borinquen Lunch Box is a fan favorite. The food truck currently frequents Northern Virginia, popping up at Port City Brewery in Alexandria, among other local breweries, wineries, and private events.

4. La Casa Del Mofongo
Located in the heart of Silver Spring, La Casa del Mofongo is a family-owned restaurant with Puerto Rican and Dominican influences. Guests can sample dishes like Mofongo Camarones and Mofongo de Pulpo, among other classic Caribbean and Latin staples.
In the beverage department, La Casa del Mofongo features various juices, cocktails, and beer, including guanabana juice and piña coladas. Be sure to ask about the restaurant’s weekday lunch special and happy hour deals!
