Many of us have admired the White House from afar, but far fewer have stepped onto its grounds. Find out how to get an exclusive look at the glamorous White House gardens this Saturday, May 11th, or Sunday, May 12th.
Where to get tickets
If you’re looking to tour the White House gardens, you’re going to need timed tickets, which specify a particular time to enter the grounds for your tour.
The free tickets can be secured at a tent outside the White House Visitor Center at 8:30 am this Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are distributed the same day, meaning you cannot go on Saturday the 11th in an attempt to schedule a tour for Sunday the 12th.
Regardless of age, all White House Garden Tour attendees must have a ticket.
What you can expect on the tour
Visitors will explore the Rose Garden near the West Wing, the Jacqueline Kennedy Garden near the East Wing, and the Kitchen Garden. The Kitchen Garden is home to locally grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs.
Along with these stunning gardens, guests will have the opportunity to see the many commemorative ornamental trees planted by former presidents – a tradition that started in the 1870s.
Keep in mind
