That’s right, the popular Winter Lantern Festival has returned to the DMV area, setting it aglow with massive structures of up to 30 feet high!
After dazzling Lerner Town Square at Tysons II last season, the stunning experience is back, decking out the area with an array of over 1,000 handcrafted Chinese lanterns by illustrious artists. This “wonderland of light” was crafted to illuminate the culture and history behind traditional Chinese lantern festivals, highlighting ancient legends and zodiacs, making for an enthralling learning experience and breathtaking photo-op.
Through intricate crafting of wire and vibrant silk and gauze, the lanterns—some up to 30 feet tall—are transformed into unbelievable creatures and displays. Each lantern display will transport you into a magical, luminous world, including an icy winter wonderland with polar bears, penguins and mammoths galore!
