A beloved Arlington pie shop has earned a major national accolade, with Livin’ The Pie Life named the #1 winner in Newsweek’s America’s Best Pie 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards.
The bakery, located on North Glebe Road, was selected by readers after Newsweek editors narrowed the field to 20 nominees.
The results were published Sept. 9, putting the Arlington bakery in the spotlight alongside nine other winning pie shops from across the country.
Livin’ The Pie Life takes the top spot in Newsweek’s pie poll
Livin’ The Pie Life finished first among the 10 winners in Newsweek’s national readers’ choice competition.
According to ARLnow, Newsweek selected 20 finalists, with readers voting in an online poll that remained open through Aug. 26. Voters could cast one vote per category each day.
The Arlington bakery was the only D.C.-area business among the 10 winners and among the finalists selected by Newsweek.
The recognition is also prominently featured on Livin’ The Pie Life’s own website, which now lists the bakery as the 2026 winner of America’s Best Pie – Newsweek Readers’ Choice Awards.

A local Arlington bakery with a national following
Livin’ The Pie Life has been serving Arlington since its early days as a farmers market business.
Co-owners Heather Sheire and Wendy MacCallum launched the business in 2011 before opening the bakery’s brick-and-mortar location on North Glebe Road in 2016. The shop is now located at 2166 North Glebe Road, Arlington, Virginia.
The bakery is particularly known for its handmade crust. According to ARLnow, the crust takes three days to make, with butter playing a major role in producing the flaky, crisp texture the shop is known for.
The bakery has also built a reputation for an extensive rotating selection of sweet and savory pies. Northern Virginia Magazine reported earlier this year that the shop makes more than 50 varieties of pies that rotate seasonally.
