Adams Morgan’s annual PorchFest has been canceled as the remnants of Hurricane Ian hit the D.C. area.
“Due to the expected rain and high winds we’ve decided to postpone the event to later in the month,” Adams Morgan wrote on its neighborhood website.
Hurricane Ian made landfall in southwest Florida on Wednesday as a category 4 hurricane and its remnants have since continued to make their way up the East Coast.
PorchFest brings more than 70 local musicians and bands to the Adams Morgan neighborhood where they perform on seventeen neighbors’ porches and patios. The result? A fun-filled, walkable music festival that promotes a sense of community.
PorchFest is expected to be rescheduled for later in October.
