The annual Markoff’s Christmas Farm is back, and is once again offering its visitors a chance to immerse themselves in the season’s festivities to get themselves in the holiday spirit!
The one-of-a-kind experience includes a large yet charming Christmas village, complete with vendors, seasonal snacks, and a chance to see Santa, an enchanting ‘Christmas Trail’ filled with festive light displays, and, of course, an opportunity to purchase your Christmas Tree.
Where is Markoff’s Christmas Farm
Markoff’s Christmas Farm is located in Dickerson, MD, roughly one hour (36 miles) from the District by car.
Specifically, the Christmas Village is taking place at Calleva Farm, located at 19120 Martinsburg Rd, Dickerson, MD 20842.

When is Markoff’s Christmas Farm open?
The Christmas Village is open on the following dates:
- November 29th & 30th
- December 5th, 6th, & 7th
- December 12th & 13th
The Christmas Village opens at 4 pm on each of the dates listed above, and closes at 9 pm, while the Christmas Trail opens at 5 pm and closes at 8 pm.

Is everything at Markoff’s Christmas Farm free?
No, the Christmas Trail walk does cost $30 per person (but kids under 5 are free) for this 15-minute stroll through a series of holiday light displays that depict various holiday scenes from the most heartwarming moments of childhood Christmas movies to the classic nativity scene.
Aside from the Trail, the Christmas Village is completely free to visit! However, you’ll find plenty of places to spend money at the Village with its many vendors, seasonal food and drink shops, and selection of picture-perfect Christmas Trees.
In essence, there will be nearly a dozen vendors, games, prices, a craft station, a place to meet Santa Claus, lots of music, and even a few big bonfires!

Other things worth knowing before you visit Markoff’s Christmas Farm
Here are a few classic bits of information that will be helpful if you’re planning a visit this holiday season!
- The Christmas Trail is not stroller-friendly, but the Christmas Village is.
- The Trail takes around 15 minutes if you walk casually.
- The event’s organizers discourage relying on an Uber to get to/from the event because there won’t be any in the area when you need to be picked up.
- Pets are not allowed at the event due to the presence of animals on the farm.
- Christmas Trees available for purchase are Fraser Fir trees from North Carolina that range from 7 to 10 feet in height. The staff will assist in prepping and loading the tree into/onto your car after purchase.
