Washington, D.C.’s bar scene just received another major international spotlight after Allegory was crowned the winner of World’s Best Cocktail Menu at the 2026 Spirited Awards.
Presented annually during the Tales of the Cocktail conference in New Orleans, the Spirited Awards are widely regarded as one of the most prestigious honors in the global bar and hospitality industry.
Allegory, tucked inside the Eaton Hotel in downtown Washington, D.C., beat finalists from Bangkok, Paris and Singapore to claim the coveted worldwide title after first being named among the competition’s Top 10 nominees and later advancing to the Top 4 finalists.
The victory adds yet another international accolade for the District’s thriving cocktail scene as D.C.’s Service Bar, earned Best U.S. Bar Team at the same awards ceremony.

Allegory captured the World’s Best Cocktail Menu award, one of the Spirited Awards’ premier global categories recognizing the most innovative and thoughtfully designed drink program anywhere in the world.
The Washington, D.C. bar advanced through a highly competitive selection process that began with a Top 10 nomination before being named one of just four global finalists.
Its final competition included acclaimed bars Bar Us in Bangkok, Danico in Paris and Jigger & Pony in Singapore before Allegory ultimately claimed the top honor.
The Spirited Awards have recognized excellence in bars, bartenders and hospitality since 2007 and are considered among the highest achievements in the international cocktail industry.
