Looking for your next summer activity? Nothing screams American summer more than the drive-in, and this one in the DMV area has the biggest screen in the U.S.
This charming drive-in, Bengies, calls back to its retro roots from their branding to their venue, located in Middle River, Maryland.

Drive-ins are an important part of U.S. history, gaining immense popularity through the 50s and 60s with the Baby Boomer era as a family-friendly event. The popularity waned in the 70s when high gas prices made people downsize their cars, meaning fewer families were attending. With the launch of the at-home entertainment system, the VCR, the drive-in lost its popularity.
Drive-in theaters are considered a relic of the past, but that doesn’t mean we still don’t love a good drive-in experience. The comfort of your car, complete with blankets and snacks, plus a double feature? What’s not to love?
Each week, tickets are released for set dates where they’ll be showing exciting double features. From July 23, select dates (July 24, 25, 26, 27. 30 and 31) will show Superman and F1 while August 8, 9. 10, 13, and 14th will have Freakier Friday and Fantastic Four. Movies are booked on Monday for the following Friday which keeps the schedule running smoothly. They have a FAQ if you purchase tickets about arrival time to get in faster, how to hear the movie once you’re there, and more.

Purchasing food while you’re there helps Bengies continue to do what they’re doing and they’ve got an extensive menu of popcorn, soda, hot dogs, submarine sandwiches, whole pizzas, and more.
We’ll see you at the next showing!
