There’s just something about treating yourself to a meal on a rooftop that really elevates the entire experience. The views are immaculate, the food is delicious, and the experience is unforgettable. Thankfully, D.C. (and some nearby neighbors) has plenty of options to help with that! From rotating rooftop restaurants to rooftops that serve double-duty as restaurants and bars, these are some of the best rooftop restaurants D.C. has to offer:
1. Skydome
Perched atop the DoubleTree by Hilton Crystal City Hotel, Skydome offers patrons an unbeatable view of Washington, D.C., as it rotates 360 degrees roughly nine times each day. Thankfully, Skydome not only serves breathtaking views but also great dishes like the Sautéed Gnocchi alla Vodka with jumbo shrimp and asparagus and specialty cocktails like the Nectar of the Gods.

2. Perry’s
This Adams Morgan gem is one of a kind! Perry’s has been serving delicious Japanese fare and beverages, including Japanese whiskey, for more than 30 years. If you can, catch one of these specials like the Wagyu Taco Rice Bowl or the Kurobuta Pork Katsu Curry—you won’t be sorry!
📍: 1811 Columbia Rd NW
3. Red Derby
Though most would reference Red Derby as a bar first, it does serve food, including on its low-key but highly fun rooftop.
📍: 3718 14th St NW
4. Del Mar
Ok, technically it isn’t a rooftop—it’s a terrazza. But the elevated views and ambiance are too stunning to not include, so we made an exception! Del Mar serves delectable Spanish tapas and seafood with a side of heightened waterfront views, making it a must-visit.
📍: 791 Wharf St SW
5. Officina
Another great Italian restaurant with a terrazza you can’t pass up! From Pasta Fridays to its Elevate Drag Brunches, no matter when you come for a rooftop meal, you’ll leave happy!
