Skydome, the only rotating rooftop restaurant in the DMV, has officially reopened!
The Arlington restaurant, perched atop the DoubleTree by Hilton Crystal City Hotel, was closed for three years amid a combination of closures stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic and undergoing renovations. Last year, Skydome returned with a new style, new Executive Chef Klaus Happel, and a new dinner menu, but it’s maintained the same stunning views while also making it that much more special of an occasion.
Skydome offers its guests an incredible and potentially unbeatable view of the capital city and all of its remarkable sites, including the Washington Monument, the Potomac River, and more as it rotates 360 degrees roughly nine times each day.
The revamped menu that Chef Happel put into place offers “American fare through a Mediterranean lens,” which has been satisfying customers since they reopened in 2023! The updated menu includes heavy-hitting dishes with interesting ingredients like Grilled Octopus with potato chorizo corn hash and aji amarillo aioli, as well as the Sautéed Gnocchi alla Vodka with jumbo shrimp and asparagus.
That being said, the fun isn’t limited to the food menu, their cocktail menu is also updated and contains some delicious options! Their quality craft cocktails alone are enough to warrant the trip here if you’re looking to take in the sites of the city from a unique view with a high-caliber cocktail.
