Whether you’re going with someone else or want to go solo, here are the best spas around D.C. to melt away your stress.
1. Salamander Resort
As luxurious an experience as you can get around D.C. and is well worth the hour’s drive from D.C. to get there. While the luxury and quality of the spa stay do cost a pretty penny, the experience is worth it if you have the budget! From fantastic facials to private treatment terraces, this place has everything you need to completely unwind.
We recommend this place for special occasions because it amounts to a luxury vacation experience that’s practically just outside the city.
Location: 500 N. Pendleton St., Middleburg
2. Four Seasons
Live like a VIP in D.C., even if it’s just for an afternoon, by booking a massage or treatment at the Four Seasons Spa right in the heart of the city! While these spa treatments aren’t the most budget-friendly options in the city, with massages starting at around $185 and treatment options that can go up to around $650, the Four Seasons spa certainly makes you feel like you’re living on cloud nine.
Location: 2800 Pennsylvania Ave., NW
3. Relâche Spa at Gaylord National
Relâche Spa sits in Oxon Hill, MD along the Potomac River, just a short distance from National Harbor. 6. Spa at the Hotel Washington
Simplistic luxury, this spa at the Hotel Washington offers a variety of body treatments and beauty services that are meant to revitalize both your mind and body. 7. The Spa at MGM National Harbor
This 27,000-square-foot haven is less than 30 minutes from D.C. and has 11 unique luxurious spa rooms, a full-service salon, an advanced fitness center, and that’s just the start of it! 9. Potomac Massage Training Institute
Just a 25-minute drive out of the city, in Silver Spring, MD, has a massage training facility where you can get a full hour-long massage for only $45! It may not be the most romantic setting, given that the massage rooms do have an observation window for students and advisers to observe the treatment, but it is one of the best places to get your stress massages away at a cost that doesn’t require it to be a special occasion.
Location: 8701 Georgia Ave., Suite 700, Silver Spring
10. Deluca Massage & Bodywork
Deluca Massage & Bodywork in Dupont Circle has been servicing the D.C. area for over 30 years, making it one of, if not, the longest-running massage and bodywork facility in the capital. You shouldn’t expect some of the fancier bells and whistles like complimentary tea or robes that you may receive at some of the larger hotel spas around D.C., but that doesn’t mean their services are any lower in quality.
Several reviews online from satisfied customers highlight the wide variety of massage options allowing them to find one that was perfect for their needs, but considering Deluca Massage & Bodywork offers around 20 unique services, this isn’t something we found all too surprising! That being said, according to these reviews, the sports massage is particularly effective at relieving both stress and chronic pain, while the Lomo Lomo Hawaiian-style massage was the most relaxing and rejuvenating.
Location: 2028 P St., NW
