Father’s Day is upon us and what better way to show your appreciation for everything that your dad has done for you than by surprising him with some incredible plans!
This Father’s Day, on Sunday – June 16th, there’s a whole lot that you can do to show your dad how much you love him!
Here are a few plans that we think might be the perfect for the occasion:
1. Explore some history and learn something new at D.C.’s new King Tut exhibit
There’s no better way to show Dad that you care than by taking the time to appreciate his interests, and history, whether it be Ancient Egypt or Ancient Rome, tends to be one of those classic Dad things they all are interested in!
D.C.’s Tutankhamun exhibit is the perfect place to snag some incredible pics, learn some incredible new facts, and have a blast that the whole family (especially dad) would enjoy!
2. Treat him to America’s pastime
If your dad is into sports, a few hours at Nationals Park to see the Nationals take on the Miami Marlins might be the most meaningful gift you can give him.
Best of all, you can score tickets for as little as $13 – so you get to give the best gift out of the whole family this Father’s Day without even having to break the bank!
3. Take Dad out to one of the best bars around D.C. for a drink
Washington, D.C. has a long history of having some of the best bars in the nation – it has some of the best breweries in the world (we’re unbiased) if you’re looking for a quality draft, and some incredible bars that you should visit at least once!
There are so many incredible places to choose from, many of which we’ve talked about extensively in the articles we linked above, but the truth is to trust your gut and pick a place you think your dad will love!
He’ll appreciate the effort and the chance to spend meaningful time with you.
4. Go to D.C.’s LEGO Discovery Center for a fun-filled afternoon for the whole family
In case you missed it, LEGO isn’t just for kids anymore!
You won’t find any judgment from us, if you think Dad and the rest of the fam might enjoy an afternoon of building bricks, this is the perfect Father’s Day gift!
General admission tickets are only $29 per person for both adults and kids. Still, we highly recommend springing for the ticket package that comes with a collectible custom lego and a keepsake photo – these go for $39.50 per person.
5. Take Dod out for a delicious brunch
There are so many incredible brunch spots around D.C. that it almost becomes overwhelming when you try to figure out which one to go to!
While we have our list of the 15 best brunch spots in D.C. that we like to recommend, once again, trust your gut and book a table at a place you think Dad will like the most – he’ll appreciate it if you pick a spot that he loves!
A few of our favorites that we think are perfect for Father’s Day are:
- Le Diplomate – Logan Circle
- Shaw’s Tavern – Shaw
- The Midlands Beer Garden – Park View
- Founding Farmers D.C. – Foggy Bottom
- Pearl Dive Oyster Palace – Logan Circle
