While the Mid-Atlantic may not be known for its ski slopes or its snowboarding scene, you may be surprised to hear about some of the more than suitable runs within road trip distance of the District!

Now, we’re not claiming that some of the ski runs around the region are superior to those that you might find in other parts of the nation, but when it comes to scratching the itch of hitting the slopes, this place does more than deliver.

A small skiing town just a few hours away

Davis, WV, a town with approximately 600 residents, is just a 3-hour drive from the District.

Despite the town’s small size, there are plenty of activities to do when you visit during the winter.

The slopes first open from late December (26th) through mid-March (16th), although exact dates and hours will naturally depend on the weather to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
