The overall score from the study was determined by the city’s ranking across each of the five sports mentioned above.
The ranking for each of those sports was calculated by individual studies that WalletHub carried out for each sport specifically.
In this study, each of those rankings had a unique weight to determine how much they would influence what made a sports town in America ‘great’.
- Football ranking – total weight of 60% of the overall score
- Baseball ranking – total weight of 14% of the overall score
- Basketball ranking – total weight of 13% of the overall score
