Perhaps the most shared aspect of Beyoncé’s viral Renaissance Tour is the interactive bit of her title “Energy.” What’s now deemed the “Eerbody On Mute War” is a competition between every crowd base to see which audience can hold the quietest and longest silence after Beyoncé sings the line “Look around everybody on mute” from “Energy.”
While it sounds like an easy feat to just stay quiet and enjoy the show, with 55,000 people trying to contain their excitement, it’s a much more difficult task than it may seem. However, Washingtonians can now add this to their resume of accolades as Queen B herself crowned us the “Eerbody On Mute War” champions!
The Renaissance World Tour has already been performed in 24 major cities across the U.S. and Europe, so to be the winners is quite the collective accomplishment.
D.C. held a great silence with not so much as a giggle heard across the 5-mile stadium. Bey was the real winner and MVP of the night though. Due to inclement weather and lightning that sparked delays, she paid $100,000 to keep all 98 metro stations operating 1 hour past closing. This ensured fans could get home safely.
Washingtonians had mixed review of the mute, some saying they nailed it and others saying it could have been held out a little longer. Check out the clips below and you be the judge!
