Christmas is right around the corner, and if you’re anything like us and tend to procrastinate, there is probably still a fairly long list of things that need to be done ahead of the holiday!
So, just to make sure you don’t get caught in a sticky situation, whether it be a last-minute gift that needs to be purchased for someone that slipped your mind, or if you simply need to pick up some snacks or drinks on your way to a Christmas party, here’s a short list of the closing hours of some notable shops around the District on Christmas Eve!
Target
Target will be open on Christmas Eve from around 7 am until 8 pm, ostensibly being open the entire day for whatever you may need!
Naturally, if you must go to Target on Christmas Eve, we highly recommend you go as early in the day as you can in order to avoid the last-minute crowds.
All Target locations will be closed on Christmas Day.
Walmart
Walmart locations around the District will be open on Christmas Eve from 6 am until 6 pm!
As always, we recommend you go as early as you can if you have to do last-minute shopping on Christmas Eve, because there are certainly going to be crowds of people that might add some unnecessary stress to your shopping experience.
All Walmart locations will be closed on Christmas Day.
CVS
Most CVS locations’ business hours will be unaffected by Christmas Eve.
While the hours are subject to change, the business hours for most CVS locations around the District for Christmas Eve are 7 am to 10 pm, and the pharmacy is expected to be open from 9 am to 6 pm.
It’s worth noting that the 24-hour CVS locations will remain open throughout both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day if you are in a pinch!
Whole Foods
Open for reduced hours on Christmas Eve, open from 7 am to 7 pm.
On Christmas Day, all Whole Foods locations will be completely closed.
McDonald’s
We don’t judge, and we also know that when you’ve got a Mac-Attack and the cravings hit, sometimes a trip to McDonald’s just can’t be avoided.
While the exact hours of McDonald’s around the District on Christmas Eve will vary across the many locations, the locations that are not open 24-hours will largely be open from 5 am until 11:00 pm, but the exact closing time may vary for each location.
