The farmers’ markets around D.C. and the greater DMV area are a delight, and the best part is that you don’t have to be a Michelin-starred chef to have a good time!
So, without further ado, here are a few of our favorite farmers’ markets to check out around Washington, D.C.!
1. Dale City Farmers Market
This farmers market is just over half an hour from the District and is well worth the trip into NoVa if you have the time and means to do so!
The market’s website provides a list of vendors present during the winter and summer seasons, making it easy to know what to expect and plan out your shopping before you go.

2. FRESHFARM – Arlington Farmers Market
This year-round market is every Saturday morning at the Alrington Courthouse parking lot!
Like several others in the D.C. area, this farmers market is an official FRESHFARM market, which is a D.C.-based non-profit that focuses on establishing a more equitable, sustainable, and resilient food system in the Mid-Atlantic region.

3. Eastern Market
Located in the District’s iconic Capitol Hill neighborhood, the historic Eastern Market is one of the region’s oldest and most beloved farmers’ markets!
The Eastern Market is open year-round and has both an indoor and an outdoor market area, each with its own schedule and unique vendors worth checking out.
You can find stalls offering fresh produce and quality ingredients and vendors selling unique items and trinkets.

4. Palisades Farmers’ Market
As its name would suggest, this farmers market is located in the District’s northwestern neighborhood known as the Palisades.
The market takes place year-round on Sundays from 9 am to 1 pm.

5. Capital Harvest on the Plaza
Taking place during spring, summer, and fall, Capital Harvest on the Plaza can be found at the Woodrow Wilson Plaza near the Ronald Reagan Building and the International Trade Center.
This market is filled with seasonal produce, fresh ingredients, and artisanal goods!
