If you’ve been waiting for your chance to take on one of the world’s fastest-growing fitness competitions, HYROX is returning to Washington, D.C. this September for its biggest event yet in the nation’s capital.
The five-day competition will bring thousands of athletes to the city from September 3rd through 7th, with races scheduled across singles, doubles, Pro, adaptive and relay divisions.

When and where is HYROX Washington, D.C. taking place?
HYROX Washington, D.C. will take place from Thursday, September 3rd, through Monday, September 7th, 2026, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, located at 801 Allen Y. Lew Place NW.
Rather than being a one-day race, this year’s competition will stretch across five days, which HYROX describes as its first-ever five-day competition in Washington, D.C.
The provisional schedule includes men’s and women’s races, adaptive divisions, men’s and women’s doubles, mixed doubles, Pro races, and relay competitions.
The opening day on September 3rd will feature men’s and women’s singles, adaptive divisions and doubles races, while the September 4th schedule adds Pro and relay competitions.
The weekend will continue with more doubles and Pro doubles races before the final races take place on Labor Day, September 7th.
The official schedule is provisional and can change, with HYROX noting that individual start times will be linked approximately three days before the event.
What to expect if you’re thinking about going
HYROX is designed to combine running with functional fitness, making it a challenge for both endurance athletes and people who prefer strength-based workouts.
Athletes can compete individually or as part of a doubles or relay team, depending on the division.
The Washington event will also feature adaptive categories and Pro divisions, giving experienced competitors an opportunity to test themselves against some of the strongest athletes in the field.
