Yayoi Kusama To Return To The Hirshhorn Museum

Get your cameras ready Washingtonians! Yayoi Kusama is returning to the Hirshhorn after 3 years and her new exhibition sounds as beautiful as the last one.

The Hirshhorn Museum is bringing back Yayoi Kusama after the total success of her 2017 exhibition, Yayoi Kusama: Inifinity Mirrors. The museum recently purchased Kusama’s first Infinity Room and it’s opening it up to the public with a new exhibition, One with Eternity: Yayoi Kusama in the Hirshhorn Collection.

If you remember, Kusama’s 2017 exhibit was pretty freaking great. There were rooms filled with twinkling lights…

This time round The Hirshhorn is presenting its most recent acquisition, Phalli’s field. (That’s right. Its the weird white sculptures with the red dots from last time.) You’ll also find other pieces by Kusama in the museum’s permanent collection, as well as her latest Infinity Rooms that will make its debut in front of D.C. audiences. The other pieces shown in the exhibition include sculptures, photos of the artist and one of Kusama’s early paintings.

Kusama’s new exhibition sure is one you won’t want to miss. So make sure to head on over to the Hirshhorn this April to check out this artist’s quirky and wonderful work!

One with Eternity: Yayoi Kusama in the Hirshhorn Collection will be on display at The Hirshhorn Museum Apr 4 – Sep 20, 2020.
