It’s Magnolia week here in DC as the Magnolias are amidst their peak bloom, an incredible site as the capital city patiently waits for its Cherry Blossoms’ peak bloom in just a few more days!
1. Enid A. Haupt Garden
The Enid A. Haupt Garden is filled with beautiful Magnolias and this garden is encircled with some of the city’s best museums! It’s definitely worth a trip, just make sure you bring your camera.
2. George Mason Memorial
Along the edge of the Tidal Basin, at the George Mason Memorial next to the Ohio Drive Bridge, you’ll see an incredible view of the Washington Monument that will be framed with some incredible Magnolia blooms.
3. National Arboretum
If you venture into the National Arboretum, you’ll see an incredible amount of beautiful blossoms of all types, Cherry Blossoms included(!), that being said, if you want to see the Magnolias you’ll want to head right to “Holly, and Magnolia Section“.
4. Indiana Plaza
Right in the heart of the city is Indiana Plaza, next to the Archives Metro Stop and the US Navy Memorial Plaza, it’s a small park that happens to be filled with some of the prettiest petals in the entire city!
5. Bryce Park
Just a few blocks south of the Washington National Cathedral, this little park on Wisconsin Ave NW and Massachusetts Ave NW is home to a handful of beautiful benches parked beneath a currently blooming Magnolia Trees! This beautiful scene makes Bryce Park one of the best spots in the city to take a deep breath and enjoy what’s around you.
6. Rawlins Park
Last, but certainly not least, is the little park known as Rawlins Park, located along the corner of E St NW and 19th St NW. This little park is filled with Magnolias at the moment showing their pretty pink petals for all to see during their iconic peak bloom.
