As part of a special Valentine’s Day special promotion to drive donations, the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore is doing a “Dollars for Dung” fundraiser to help people find some closure over their ‘crappy’ ex while also raising funds to support animal care and conservation!
How to name elephant poo after your ex this Valentine’s Day
The Maryland Zoo’s “Dollars for Dung” fundraiser can be accessed via the zoo’s website where you will be prompted to donate.
The fundraiser has four unique ‘tiers’ of donations depending on what type your ex was:
- The Ghoster Ex – $5
- The “It’s Not You, It’s Me” Ex – $10
- The Stage Five Clinger Ex – $15
- The Gaslighty Ex – $20
After you complete the donation you’ll get to provide a new ‘name’ to one of the zoo’s latest piles of poo!
Once you’ve done that, you’ll get a fun PDF certificate to commemorate your ever-so-satisfying charitable action.
How is naming elephant poop after your ex for a good cause?
According to the Maryland Zoo, the little donations add up quickly resulting in one of their best public fundraisers of the year every Valentine’s Day!
Even on their website, they state how much it helps despite how ridiculous it may sound:
While it may sound silly, your dung donation has a real-world impact. We’re home to over 1,000 animals, including critically-endangered species like Panamanian golden frogs and African penguins. Dung dollars support vital conservation efforts here at the Maryland Zoo and in native habitats around the world. Even a small pile of… cash will have a BIG impact on wildlife and wild places.
