The NoMa Farmers Market at Third Street has become one of the top farmers markets in the District since it first began in 2022 for good reason.
The weekly event, which is put on by the NoMa Business Improvement District (NoMa BID), is less of a typical farmers market and more of a standing social plan every week that offers locals a chance to socialize, shop, rest, and relax.
Designed to keep people lingering in the area, rather than simply serving them and sending them on their way, here you can find seating, open spaces, and plenty of ready-to-eat options, which means you can spend the whole afternoon here and never have to leave.
When and where is the NoMa Farmers Market?
The NoMa Farmers Market is kicking off its 2026 season this Thursday, April 30th, from 4 pm to 8 pm, located on Third Street SE.
Following this week, the NoMa Farmers Market will remain a weekly occurrence at the same location, Third Street SE, on Thursday afternoons from 4 pm to 8 pm until October 29th.
The event can be easily accessed from the NoMa-Gallaudet Metro or the Union Market stops, making it a low-stress destination for those commuting across town to join in the fun.
What makes the NoMa Farmers Market so unique
As we mentioned earlier, this feels less like a farmers market and more like a community event.
There is live music, plenty of places to sit or get comfortable, and a ton of food and drink options to choose from.
