Virginia Beach will host the inaugural Super Girl Surf Festival over Labor Day weekend, September 5–7, 2026, marking the first time the annual women’s sports and music event has come to the Mid-Atlantic.
Organizers expect more than 100,000 attendees across the three days, with admission free to the public.
The festival is in its 20th year and has established editions in Oceanside, California, and Jacksonville Beach, Florida.
The Virginia Beach debut extends the series to a third permanent location on the East Coast.
A top-tier surf competition at its core
At the heart of the event is a World Surf League Qualifying Series WSL QS4000 competition — the highest-level women’s surfing event in North America.
The surf contest will stream live on September 6–7 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. EST via 10 digital partners, including the event’s own site and on Twitch.
Broadcast coverage will follow on 28 national and regional TV partners between December and March.
14 sports along 1.5 miles of beachfront
The festival footprint will stretch 1.5 miles from the 1st Street Jetty to the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier.
Beyond surfing, the program covers 14 disciplines: skimboarding, skateboarding, beach volleyball, sand soccer, lacrosse, flag football, lifesaving, BMX, a 5K run, sand hockey, and free fitness classes.
More than 5,000 female athletes are expected to compete.
Music lineup and concert access
The festival will stage 21 live concerts over the three days.
Confirmed headliners include Switchfoot, Lupe Fiasco, Gym Class Heroes, Colbie Buddz, B.o.B, and Bryce Vine.
Female artists on the bill include HIRIE, Hannah Wicklund, Emily Zeck, ANORA, Flailing Idiot, Hello Sister, and McKenzi Brooke, among others.
Concert access is free but requires advance registration.
Entry is first-come, first-served until capacity is reached.
Free Concert Passes are available on the Super Girl VB site.
Paid VIP and VIP Premium packages will also be available, with the latter including private pit access and a complimentary meal.
Schedule and additional programming
The festival runs daily from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. each day.
Alongside the athletic competitions and concerts, the program includes mentorship sessions, speaker panels, female art exhibitions, and a festival village.
Mayor Robert Dyer has confirmed the city’s support for the event.
The festival is produced by ASA Entertainment, founded in 1994, whose action sports events reach more than 500 million households worldwide through domestic broadcast distribution.
