Local long-distance runners Phil Hargis and Mike Wardian recently made public their plans to host the officially unofficial “Taco Bell 50k”, a race to finish a 50-kilometer (31.07 miles) route with nine stops built in at unique Taco Bell locations around the DMV area!
A crucial distinction is that while this event is “fueled” by Taco Bell, at least according to its organizers, the event is not formally sponsored, which means that these runners are doing it for the love of the game (Taco Bell and Running).
Participants in this event will be testing the limits of their bodies and minds with this unconventional and perhaps questionable challenge.

When is the Taco Bell 50k?
The “Taco Bell 50k” is slated to take place on Saturday, November 29th, starting at 8:00 am, just a few days after Thanksgiving!
Where is the Taco Bell 50k going to take place?
While the entire route of the race has not yet been published, we know that the race will both start and finish at the Taco Bell Cantina location at 417 King Street in Alexandria, VA.
The race will extend for just over 31 miles and include nine Taco Bell stops along the way, where participants will have to eat from a list of specified items assigned for each stop.

What are the rules for the Taco Bell 50k?
While the full set of rules that are currently listed on the official race announcement on Instagram, here are a few of the core rules:
