Tom Brady is heading to Georgetown University this spring as one of the school’s biggest commencement speakers for the Class of 2026.
The NFL legend will address graduating students as part of Georgetown’s multi-day commencement celebrations in Washington, D.C.
The announcement has already sparked excitement among students, alumni, and football fans eager to see one of the sport’s most recognizable names take the stage.
When and where is Tom Brady giving the commencement speech?
Tom Brady is scheduled to speak at Georgetown’s undergraduate commencement ceremony for the McDonough School of Business on May 16, 2026.
The commencement will take place on Healy Lawn, but in case of severe weather, it will be moved to the McDonough Arena Gymnasium.
The ceremony is part of Georgetown’s larger spring 2026 commencement weekend, which runs from May 14 through May 17.
Georgetown holds separate graduation ceremonies for its undergraduate, graduate, and professional schools rather than one single university-wide event.
The ceremony will take place on Georgetown’s historic campus in Washington, D.C., where thousands of graduates and guests gather each year for commencement celebrations.

Do you have to be a student/graduate to attend?
In most cases, commencement ceremonies at Georgetown are reserved for graduating students and their guests.
According to Georgetown’s commencement site, if the event is hosted as planned on Healy Lawn, there will be no limit to the number of guests each graduating student can invite.
However, if inclement weather forces the event indoors to the McDonough Arena, there will be a limit of just 4 guests per graduating student.
For those without access, Georgetown has said commencement activities can also be followed online through livestreams and official university coverage.
