The Washington Capitals have announced their 2026-27 promotional schedule, giving fans plenty of reasons to circle specific games on the calendar.
The schedule includes a mix of fan giveaways, nearly 30 theme nights and 19 special ticket offers, with some especially fun items planned throughout the season.
Among the giveaways are an Alex Ovechkin bobblehead, an Alex Tuch-designed hat, a GR8 Ball, a hockey rink butter dish, a Hometown Remix beanie and a positive affirmation button, while special ticket offers include items like a Hello Kitty® bobblehead and Dylan Strome “Strometrooper” bobblehead.
There are also plenty of themed nights planned, from Oktoberfest and Hockey Halloween to Star Wars Night™, Cherry Blossom Night, Margaritaville and Country Music Night.
Fan giveaway games
The Capitals will be handing out a variety of promotional items during select home games throughout the season. Some giveaways are available to fans attending the game, while the Kids Giveaway on February 21 is specifically limited to the first 3,000 kids.

The biggest giveaway of the season is likely to be the Alex Ovechkin Hometown Remix Bobblehead, which will be available during the January 12 game against the Vegas Golden Knights.
Fans looking for something a little more unusual can also mark November 25 for the Hockey Rink Butter Dish, while the February 23 game against the Rangers comes with a GR8 Ball.
Special theme night games
Beyond the giveaways, the Capitals are planning nearly 30 theme nights for the 2026-27 season.
The lineup includes both fan-favorite themed games and nights dedicated to celebrating different communities and causes.

There are some particularly calendar-worthy games in the mix.
Oktoberfest arrives October 24, while Hockey Halloween follows just a few days later on October 28. The holiday season gets two Caps Holiday Party games in December, followed by Margaritaville on January 22 and Star Wars™ Night on February 16.
Then, as spring arrives in the nation’s capital, fans can look forward to Cherry Blossom Night on March 23, giving the Capitals another opportunity to lean into one of Washington, D.C.’s most recognizable seasonal traditions.
Special ticket offer games
The Capitals are also offering 19 special ticket offers throughout the season.
These are different from the standard fan giveaways: fans who purchase a special ticket offer will receive a unique gift-with-purchase item or experience connected to that game’s theme.
The catch is that the special tickets for these games tend to sell out much faster than the general admission tickets, so you’ll want to secure ticket in advance to participate.
Season ticket members will also have access to purchase the items without buying an additional ticket.
The team says additional information about the special ticket offers will be shared at a later date.
