The annual Norwegian Festival is back by popular demand at the Norway House again for another incredible holiday experience!
Guests can experience a small-scale scale authentic Norwegian market filled with genuine clothing items, foods, and more, making this a perfect plan to enjoy the day while also knocking out some holiday shopping.
What is the Norwegian Festival?
The Norwegian Festival is an annual event every December inside Norway House, located at the Sons of Norway’s Washington Lodge in Fairfax, VA.
- The Norway House: 3846 Meredith Drive, Fairfax, VA 22030
The event is hosted by an international fraternal organization called the Sons of Norway (SON), which has a members-only chapter located just outside of Washington, D.C., which they refer to as the Washington Lodge.
The event celebrates the cultural heritage of Norwegian Immigrants with authentic traditional food, crafts, games, and more!

When is the 2025 Norwegian Festival?
The 2025 Norwegian Festival is set to take place the first weekend of December, from Friday, December 5th, through Sunday, December 7th.
The festival’s hours over the weekend are as follows:
- Friday, December 5th
- 9 am to 11 am entry is exclusive to SON Members; after 11 am, the festival opens to the public until 5 pm.
- Saturday, December 6th

How to register for a spot to visit the festival’s indoor market
To avoid overcrowding the Norway House and to reduce the risks of any safety hazards, it is required that guests register online and make a reservation ahead of time.
Unfortunately, it seems that all available time slots have been fully booked.
However, SON is allowing walk-ins to be accommodated as space permits between no-shows and fast shoppers.
Which means that even if you weren’t able to secure a timeslot online, there’s still a chance to check out the inside of Norway House if you’re willing to wait in line.
If you do plan to wait in line, the event’s organizers suggest sending someone in your group to grab a few bites from the outdoor Nordic Cafe to make the queue more palatable.
