Black Restaurant Week is a national celebration of Black-owned restaurants across the nation. From Creole to Cajun spice, the celebration amplifies and celebrates the Black business owners and chefs in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia with tantalizing specials- inviting Washingtonians to discover a new favorite spot. Black Restaurant Week D.C. began on July 16 (and luckily runs for two weeks because one just isn’t enough to indulge) and will run through July 30.
This will be the fourth annual campaign of Black Restaurant Week in D.C. There are additional activations in New York, the Bay Area, the Carolinas, Houston, and regionally as well. For Washington, Black Restaurant Week is sub-categorized by D.C., Baltimore, Virginia, and Maryland restaurants (not in Baltimore).
Washingtonians can view the full list of participating restaurants and bakeries online. Look for the red “specials” sticker with a fork and knife to signify reduced prices. A total of 36 restaurants will represent the D.C. area, that’s enough for a new spot each meal, each day!
