Looking to get away this summer but on a bit of a budget? Thanks to Amtrak’s Acela Summer Sale, Washingtonians can travel from D.C. for tickets as low as $39!
For a limited time (Thursday, June 22 through Wednesday, June 28), Amtrak’s sale is offering the chance to travel on its high-speed Acela train at highly discounted rates for tickets purchased during this time for trips between Friday, June 30 through Monday, September 4. During this time, trips from D.C. to Philadelphia feature Business Class tickets beginning at just $39 and First Class tickets starting as low as $154.
Tickets don’t just include D.C. though! The Acela Summer Sale includes one-way fares from additional participating cities, such as Baltimore, Boston, New York, Providence, and Wilmington. You can see the pricing from these locations below:

Instead of driving, you can sit back and relax as the Acela train travels at a speed of up to 150 mph, while taking full advantage of its spacious seating and leg room,(no cramping!), a café car if you’re feeling snacky, and free Wi-Fi so you can enjoy personal entertainment or get some work done!
Did we mention you’ll be supporting more sustainable travel in the process? Traveling by train “reduces greenhouse gas emissions by up to 72% compared to flying and by up to 83% compared to driving a personal vehicle.”
