Whether or not you made it out to see the Tulips around D.C. or you made the trek out to Burnside Farms for their โFestival of Springโ featuring thousands of blooming flowers, you are not going to want to miss the lavender blooms happening in the D.C. area this Summer!
There are more than only three Lavender Farms in the greater DMV area, but here are three fantastic places to visit this Summer within an hour’s drive of D.C.!
1. Seven Oaks Lavender Farm – Catlett, Virginia
Seven Oaks Lavender Farm is a family-run business open 7 days a week from May 31st until July 14th for its 2024 lavender season.
On weekdays you can enter from 9 am until 4 pm and on weekends you can enter from 9 am until 5 pm, tickets for both weekdays and weekends are the same price; $8 for adults and $6 for children.
The ticket price includes 20 stems of ‘pick your own’ lavender, but you pick extra at $0.15 per stem!
During lavender season, dogs are only allowed on Mondays between 9 am and noon and must remain on a leash at all times.
Guests are encouraged to bring picnic blankets and pack an easy meal to enjoy while at the farm, there are some picnic tables on-site but they are only available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

2. Blooming Hill Lavender Farm & Gift Shop – Purcellville, Virginia
This charming lavender farm is only open on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 am to 5 pm just an hour from D.C. for their U-Pick Lavender access, which is only $3 per person.
Once you’re at Blooming Hill you’ll immediately notice that aside from the bounds of blooming lavender plants they also have a wide range of lavender-based products available, ranging from soaps to coffees infused with their iconic floral scent.
The 2024 lavender season at Blooming Hill Lavender Farm starts on June 1st and ends on July 31st.

3. Kharis Lavender Fields – Gaithersburg, Maryland
This lovely boutique lavender farm just an hour from D.C. is open sporadically throughout the Summer until the end of July when its 2024 lavender season will conclude.
On their website, you’ll be able to reserve your spot to visit on any of their ‘open’ days, which you’ll want to do as far in advance as possible because only 30 spots are available per day, making this experience as exclusive as it is luxurious!
Tickets for days that haven’t already sold out can be purchased at $55 per person for the generic tour and day at the farm, but if you’re interested in a yoga session amidst the lavender you can secure a spot at only $28!
