As the 19 Buddhist Monks that set out from Fort Worth, Texas, on October 26th of last year, finally approach their finish line in Washington, D.C., the District is preparing for a day full of rolling road closures, slow traffic, and large crowds of pedestrians joining the final steps of the walk.
When are the Buddhist monks arriving in Washington, D.C.?
The monks, who are now resting in Arlington, are expected to walk into the District, crossing the Chain Bridge, at roughly 8 am on Tuesday, February 10th.
However, the monks are reportedly planning several stops to attend events and visit sites throughout Tuesday and some additional events on Wednesday, which means that traffic will be impacted on both Tuesday, February 10th, and Wednesday, February 11th, throughout the day.
